AM Loop Antenna Problems? - how to increase car antenna stregnth

I have an AM antenna on my receiver. There are two radio stations, a similar force, I carry it in my car. I can not, however, the receiver in my house. Does anyone have any suggestions for increasing the strength of the antenna, or perhaps need a different antenna?
